Craps strategies can be somewhat overwhelming to the newcomer so read on to get an understanding of the basics so you can develop your game and enjoy what is usually the livliest table at the casino!

Players bet against the casino and everything lies on the results of the dice roll. Players bet on the outcome of the rolls and therefore, craps is a game of chance. People new to the game would be well advised to concentrate on the Pass Line bets to start with before advancing onto the other ones.

The Pass Line bet is the most common one in craps and it is a straight wager on the outcome of the dice roll. The first roll is called the Come Out roll and if a 7 or 11 is rolled the Pass Line bet wins. If the total is 2, 3 or 12 then the Pass Line bet loses. Should any other number be rolled then this is called the ‘Point’ and will start the next series of rolls. Whatever number it was that was rolled has to be rolled again before a ‘7’ is rolled for the Pass Line bet to win. If the ‘7’ is rolled first the Pass Line bet loses.

The Don’t Come bet is the opposite of the Come Bet and means the player wins if a 2 or 3 is rolled, and loses if a 7 or 11 is rolled. Likewise, if a 7 is rolled before the Point number in the series, the Don’t Come bet wins.

For Place Bets, the number a player choses has to be rolled before a 7 to win.

A Field Bet is a single bet that can be made on any roll. If a 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 is rolled, the player wins even money. Should a 2 or 12 be rolled, the player wins 2:1. If a 5, 6, 7 or 8 is rolled, the player loses.

For new players the craps table layout can appear confusing but once you have a basic knowledge of the bets things should be alot clearer. The best way to practise is to sign up to an online casino where they all have craps tables for you to play on in the privacy of your own home. No pressure from other players to roll the numbers they want! If you sign up to a casino make sure you get a great bonus offer. Many will match your first deposit with a 100% bonus that you work your way to getting as you play at the tables. And don’t forget to make use of this Craps Strategies guide to help you to a profit!
